Cheapest Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally – Latest Generation

The DX is all it says it is. There is no sound when you turn a page this is not mentioned anywhere, very easy to use, intuitive and practical. I don't own the smaller versions but the bigger screen is just right for me. I chose the Kindel DX after researching the Nook and the iPad. I didn't look at any other iBook readers, those all seem to be less functional than the Kindel and it's closest rivals. The Nook and iPad have more features and versatility, but I just want to read a book. Plus the international restrictions seemed to push me in favour of the Kindel (I don't live in the US, yes there is a bigger world out there) despite the weight of reveiws saying the Kindel is 'old hat' in comparison. It's a piece of electronic equipment, not a bendable notepad or fool-proof. There are some people out there who really should not be allowed to own anything they don't understand. Yes you need to read the manual if you want to do more than turn it on and look at it. No you can't toss it round like a magazine, or leave it on the bed to be rolled on. Yes you have to look after it better than your mobile phone, your remote or last night's left overs. Yes you need the cover or a cover, it's not bullet proof. Everyone will want to try it, trust no one. You can eat and drink while your using it, just like you can eat and drink over your keyboard at the PC, expect the same results. It takes a range of file formats and those it does not can be connverted using the handy MobiPocket software you can get for your PC at no cost (also owned by Amazon) then load the converted document onto your Kindel. I like it, it's cool and it's very handy and I can take it almost anywhere - the shower, the pool, while your mowing the lawn are not recommended.

If your thinking about it, get one, stop fussing it's worth it. I have only had it a short while but have already read three books, have 15 on my wish list and have stopped watching TV or playing on the computer, to broaden my horizons. It's extremely easy to browse for books both on the PC (Kindel for PC) or on the Kindel and find what your interested in quickly and start reading while you have the chance, not when you'll think you will have the time later. You will never have the time later and you will not likely go to the book store for a book you can only half remember you wanted to read. The downside is it might be addictive and you'll start reading again.

If you like reading and you like books this is a must have addition to your library. If your wanting one just for the novelty, it will wear off, get an iPad.
