I'm a believer! WOW!- I did not like it at first. It was heavy, It was hard to hold, It was hard to read,and its buttons did not always work. These were the reasons I used as I requested to return my Kindle DX a few days after the purchase. Thank goodness I'm lazy. I am an avid 60 year old reader with only one eye remaining. And my only eye was betraying me too. I had double vision, I had dry eye, I had blurriness, and I could only read for about 10 minutes at a time before my vision got so bad I could not read at all. And then came my Kindle DX. At first it seemed hard to use but it was only different to use, not difficult. I had to learn how to hold it because it is not a book. Then I had to learn how to use the buttons because they were different too. And last I needed to learn how to adjust the font and Suddenly I entered Nirvana. I can read for hours and my eye never quits on me any more. The buttons work fine once I slowed down and let them have time to work. I was so involved with my reading that I could not turn the pages fast enough. And my last reason not to like the Kindle disappeared when I held it where It was comfortable and realized it has a different feel than a book. My Kindle has changed my world. It has reopened the world of the written word and brightened up my life. It is the best purchase I have made that I can even remember. The larger size of the DX is a real plus. I can enlarge the font so that it is easy for me to see and read, and still have enough words on the page to not look odd. The percent read instead of page numbers was a bit odd at first, but that too has passed. Being able to highlight spots and make bookmarks make this retired special education teacher feel right at home. These features make it easy to gather information from all over a book or even from many books into one spot and then I can use this information when I argue plots or an authors deeper meaning with my daughter. I went on vacation and I was able to take along a large reading pile with no loss of space. I even had translators at my fingertips. Yes I'm a believer now!
