After having it about a month, I am very pleased with my Kindle DX. It is actually easier to read books on the DX than from an actual paper book (less eye strain, easier to keep my place, and faster to read). It performs exceptionally well in shaded or sunlite areas. I read the other day outside with half the screen in sunlight and half in shade and it was no problem. I have read indoors, on balconies, on the beach, etc., all with great results. Some pdf files do not always display properly, but simple text pdf docs work great. PDF docs with images take a few seconds to display, which I imagine may get faster in later models. Battery life is exceptional.
