I have been very curious about eReaders for some time now. I purchase a jetbook as a birthday present for a friend, after reviewing Kindles (this was pre-iPad). My friend really likes his jetbook. I think it's way too small. When the iPad came out, I decided to check it out. I really liked the navigation with iPad, but found that it was a bit heavy, was difficult to read in sunlight and the screen smudges easily. But I really liked how pages turn when reading books. So, I decided to try the Kindle DX. It arrived yesterday afternoon, and already, I am thinking of returning, for the following reasons:
1. the screen refresh is so odd; it completely fizzes out and then the new page comes up. Maybe it's a defect. If it's not, it just doesn't work for me;
2. the screen changes when navigating, take too long
3. the screen takes a while to change when I go from portrait to landscape
4. the type is actually not that easy to read
So, for me, for close to $500, I'm not happy and am now thinking of getting the iPad.Get more detail about Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally – Latest Generation.
