Purchase Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally – Latest Generation

Got the DX recently. It is awesome. I chose Kindle over the iPad to combat eye strain. And I chose DX over Kindle 2 for the larger screen so I can read academic papers. Navigating the Kindle is pretty easy. I'm not an HCI expert so I'm sure the UI could be improved, but it was pretty easy for me to use. The resolution is fine and things are easy to read. I love the native PDF reader. I can easily display foreign language text using it.

The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because I think it could still be improved:

1. Needs a better way to organize documents and books. There should be a way to tag each document with arbitrary labels and have those labels show up at the top. This seems like it should be achievable with a simple software upgrade.

2. A lot of wasted space on the device that could have been used to either make the device smaller or the screen bigger. I like the feel of the keyboard, but the chasms between keys are gigantic and really slows you down. I mean come on, Blackberry's been around for how long now? And no one has been managed to come up with a better keyboard.

All in all it's an awesome device so far. I will update as I get to know my DX more.Get more detail about Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally – Latest Generation.
