I recently purchased a Kindle DX and am based in Europe. Overall the product is pretty good, drawbacks are; lack of pictures when reading newspapers and it needs a backlight function (very hard to read in low light environment). The real nightmare begins if you need to contact customer service with any problems, lots of bouncing around call centres where they spend more time asking your name and details and leaving you on hold. I had a pretty simple question (and it turns out the answer was also!!) but it took 4 phone calls (long distance) and 5 emails to get a competent reply.....so all in all good product but customer support poor.
