Maybe my expectations were too high, maybe the problem is that I live in the time of iPods and Macs, but what it seemed like a wonderful idea for a device REALLY useful, has been ruined in the putting the idea into practice.
I really wanted this device. I travel a lot, and read a lot, so what would I would love more than to be able to carry as many books as I wanted without having those additional kilos (or pounds if you like).
I will list what I didn't like of the Kindle:
1)It gets dirty awfully easy: the pearl-like color implies that you MUST wash your hands every time before using the Kindle if you don't want to have it looking like an old rug in less that one week. Yes, you can buy a coloured cover or sheave, but if that is the case but that's not the point.
2)Pictures and graphics look TERRIBLE: If the book that you are reading has anything like a graphic or a picture that is less than half page in size, don't bother looking at it. Even with the "zooming" feature you will not be able to take a decent look.
3)It is slow: Passing pages feels pretty much as the feeling we experienced 10 or 15 years ago when "surfing the net". Plus, Amazon hasn't come up with a truly practical way of scrolling pages if you want to find something you left behind a few pages ago.
4)Too many buttons. That is the problem of been in the same time of the iPad. The device "feels" old.
And the worst part is that after 3 months with it, it is starting to behave "sluggish"... Let's hope for the bestGet more detail about Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally – Latest Generation.
