Wow, I purchased my Kindle DX in December, after several delays I finally received my package. After a few weeks the Kindle started to have problems. My unit would freeze and turn on and off for no apparent reason. I have spent enough time with Tech support to open my own support team. Amazon's call me back is a clever way to connect to a person who answers and then puts you on hold to speak to yet another tech support person, then that support person puts you on with another support person only to tell you what you can read on the web site.
There is a software upgrade they say, but I don't believe Kindle these days. I have been told so many different things by tech support. Kindle support informed me that they are sending this software upgrade (that could fix my Kindle) out to only a few people at a time, they have been saying that for the last 6 weeks. I wonder why they wouldn't give it to someone who actually needs it?
The Kindle was a cool idea in concept. I think if I knew what I know now, i would have purchased the smaller unit at the much cheaper price... there is just not enough bang for the buck compared to the Ipad.
I am over waiting on hold, I am over Amazon's "select few" attitude and I am over my Kindle, Craigslist here I come.
