I like this Kindle DX. I have also the original version Kindle. I have used my original Kindle and have enjoyed it. I enjoyed the fact that on both of the Kindles I can down-load books and some other items by a free wireless conection. I also like both Kindles because I can do some other free wireless internet web browsing like Google or Wikipedia. The Kindle DX has a larger screen, text-to-speech, and other features that the original Kindle does not have. But I am still going to keep my original Kindle as back-up. The original Kindle has an SD card slot and I could replace its battery (if Amazon still sells batteries for the original Kindle). Kindle DX does not have a SD card slot, but according to Amazon they could hold about 3500 items in the reader device. If any thing happens to the Kindle DX batteries, I would have to send my Kindle DX back to Amazon to get them replaced. I think that I will always enjoy my Kindle DX as I have with my original Kindle.
