I have had my Kindle for a month now & have found it to have increased my reading substantially. I recommend it and its little brother for those of us who spend time on planes or somewhere else than our home. The ink is black & not tiring to the eye, and the screen contrast good. Perhaps the coolest thing is the battery life and the no-nonsense downloading once I purchase but it's a MUST that you buy a cover to protect it!
I bought an iPAD but I much prefer my Kindle for reading books.
